The plan titled "Testing Program" is developed during this phase. Testing goals are established and alternative testing strategies are evaluated. Testing strategies tailored to the environment should be selected and an on-going testing program should be established.

The testing plan helps insure the integrity of your recovery procedure. Without a functional testing plan, there is no assurance that in case of failure, you will be covered. Therefore, it is very, very important you have a testing program that tests your system at predefined interval to ensure the intergrity of the recovery system.
